People Inc Youth and Family Services operates under the capable leadership of Richard Mauldin, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, and Certified School Counselor. Mr. Mauldin has been with People Inc in one capacity of another for the past nine years (the last three of which he has served as Director).
Prior to being employed by People Inc Mr. Mauldin worked in the human services field for 35 years – starting as a Minister to Youth (he is ordained Methodist clergy, retired). He has also served as agency Chaplain for a variety of children’s facilities, a Juvenile Probation/Parole Officer and Supervisor, and Director of counseling agencies and children’s residential programs.
Mr. Mauldin reports that he has been “ecstatically married to his wife Glenda for 25 years” and that their greatest joy is traveling together and spending time with their four grandchildren.
Cristal Stimac
PSRS
      Crystal Stimac has invested more than 12 years in youth and families through People Inc. Crystal has amassed a long list of credentials and trainings during that time, including Certified Case Management, and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
      Crystal was raised in Colorado and moved to the area during her sophomore year in High School. She went to college, first at Carl Albert, and then finished up at Northeastern State University – actually earning two degrees (B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Sociology). She started her career at the LeFlore County Youth Services, where she served for seven years.
      Nowadays, her portfolio is split between providing counseling, and working in teen pregnancy prevention (Crystal’s program is an abstinence-based prevention program). When asked what she likes best about her job, Crystal said, “I enjoy working with the clients”.
      For fun, Crystal enjoys swimming, cinema, clearance shopping, travel & vacations (she’s planning on the Alabama gulf shore for her next trip). Crystal is married to Roy and has four children.
Deborah Whitman

      Deborah Whitman attended undergraduate school at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. She majored in Business Administration and Education, completing her double major in 1994.
      Initially, Ms. Whitman wanted to be a teacher but took the first job opportunity that came up - as a counselor at Muskogee Youth Services. She worked there for six years, seeing CARS (Community-At-Risk) and other outpatient clients. She attended the University of Oklahoma and completed her Masters degree in Human Relations in 2001. Began working for People Inc. in April of 2000 as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist, and later as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, under supervision.
      Ms. Whitman enjoys working with the different variety of consumers and people in general. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church in Muskogee where she and her family live. She is married to Todd Whitman, a Captain of the Muskogee Police Department. They have been married for 16 years, and have one son, Derek, who is twelve, and two step-sons, Taylor and Jeff. She enjoys spending time with her family, and traveling.
Amy Henry
Tahlequah Office Manager
      Amy Henry has been with People Inc for seven years as the Tahlequah Office Manager. She has always worked in an office setting (typing, 10-key, computers, customer service, etc), though this is the first position she has held in the Behavioral Health field. Amy always strives to bring her best to her work.
      Amy and her son, Trenton love to go camping in the summer time. They have a boat that they spend a lot of time on, and have been spending a lot of the time in the gym trying to get fit. They also enjoy going to the movies.
      Amy says, “I really enjoy my job and love to help people. I do plan to go back to college one day and I want to major in Psychology/Social Work and come back to be a Counselor.”

Ashley Smith
PSRS
      Ashley Smith currently works with individuals under the age of eighteen as part of our Youth Services program. Ashley works closely with area schools to provide individual rehabilitation, and conduct groups for the area alternative education groups and Boys and Girls Clubs.
      Ashley graduated from Sallisaw High School and then from Northeastern State University in May of 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Social Work. She is now continuing her education at the University of Oklahoma and expects to graduate with the Master’s of Social Work degree in May of 2009. She will then seek licensure with the State of Oklahoma as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
      Before coming to People Inc Ashley worked at Meadowbrook Outpatient Treatment Center as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist, and at the Department of Human Services, first as a Social Services Specialist, and later in the Adult Protective Services division.
      In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with family, camping, scrap-booking, photography, and watching her daughter cheer, play softball and basketball. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Business and Professional Women of Sequoyah County, and First Missionary Baptist Church.
      Ashley is married to Blakely Smith Jr. who works for the City of Sallisaw Electric Department and is also a Sallisaw Firefighter. Together they have three children Ashlynne, Seth, and Brylee.
