People Inc. Vocational Services provides services for individuals on the Developmental Disabilities Service (DDSD) waiver in Sequoyah, Adair, and Muskogee counties. We also offer Vocational Habilitation Training (VHT) and Employment Training Specialist (ETS -job coach) services. These services enable individuals with disabilities to work in their own communities and to learn vocational skills, social skills, and independence with the assistance of a job coach

We also have two Vocational Workshops; one is located in Sallisaw, OK and the other in Stilwell, OK. Individuals with disabilities can work at these facilities without being on the DDSD waiver. We seek to develop the vocational and social skills of these individuals while, at the same time, providing a safe work environment. We also offer a Community Integrated Employment (C.I.E.) program in which job coaches take individuals to jobs at such places as Marvin's, Shelter Insurance, State Farm Insurance, Stilwell Memorial Hospital, and various schools and churches around the community. Our job coaches work alongside these individuals, providing the necessary training they need to do their jobs. Once the individual begins to exhibit independence in their job duties our staff begins a process called "fading". This process allows the individuals to complete their jobs independently, increasing their self-confidence and independence.
